Demode: The philosophy
The acceleration of the environmental crisis directly involves economical development. On the one hand because of the increased consumption of raw materials (water and energy) and on the other hand because of the increase in the emission of pollutants. Additional factors are the shorter utilisation life of goods that quickly become rubbish to dispose of, the felling of forests and the increase of the production and use of synthetic chemical products. We at Demode are meditating on these topics because we believe Man is facing an epochal challenge.
To begin with, it is a good idea to open a debate on the deepest meaning of design and its consequences in the perception of reality. In other words, we could ask urselves whether the ability of a designer should be that of creating something useless for a chosen few or elaborating shapes to combine functionality and style for all. For us the answer is very simple. The answer is Demode. A democratic and humanistic concept of design, intended as a tool designed to simplify everyone's daily life.
A line of kitchens in which care for details and ergonomics, together with product quality and respect for the environment are our goals. Demode stands for Democratic Modern Design. A name that can also be read as Démodé, i.e. out of fashion. Why? Because fashion is ephemeral while Demode is designed to last.
This describes our kitchens precisely. Free to redefine new parameters, to elaborate a different culture. An identity in which objects are full of symbols, emotions and stimulation for the senses.
This is why you won't see us advertised in magazines or on your television set because we need that money to fuel our dream, which we at Demode hope is shared by you: to pay a price that is proportional to the added value of the purchased object!
